Synopsis:
Academy Award winning cinematographer, Walter Lassally (Zorba the Greek, The Deceivers), captures the full sweep of Turkey’s majestic landscape.

A young, sheltered, American professor is awarded a grant to research the working conditions of women in Turkey. Leaving a less-than-satisfying job and a stifling marriage, REYNA travels to a small village in northern Turkey.

Reyna is soon caught up in a “primitive” life that beguiles and repels her. To the villagers, she’s exotic: blonde, pretty, rich. Here, fourteen-year-old girls work without cease and men enforce a moral code that punishes adultery with death.

Reyna finds herself drawn to MUSTAFA, a rebel outlaw who epitomizes the sensual, brooding Turkey she loves and loathes.
